For children and adults alike, it is hard to stay happy and make good decisions when you are hungry. It is important to have snacks on hand that can be grabbed, or take less than two minutes of prep so making the healthy decision is an easy one!
Here are some of the best snacks we have learned to have on hand (and we recommend always having more than one around so "not being in the mood for something" doesn't break your commitment!)
- dill pickles
- cottage cheese
- Whisps (we love dipping them in salsa or guacamole!)
- olives
- cheese sticks
- precooked hard boiled eggs
- celery with natural almond butter, peanut butter or cream cheese (I love mixing a little bit of garlic powder, onion powder and pepper into my cream cheese before putting it on celery!)
- roll-ups (melting a little bit of cheese in lunch meat)
- a small handful of nuts
- pepperoni sticks
- veggies dipped in ranch, hummus or guacamole
- Fage greek yogurt (we were so excited to find a low carb yogurt and have had fun finding things to mix in to it!)
- a cup of warm broth
- Kirkland Signature's Nut Bars
- a few berries (you can even make up some whipped cream to put on top if you have a sweet tooth!)
